Columbia City Station Apartments
WALSH self-performed the concrete and finish carpentry, increasing quality and accelerating the schedule: our concrete crews efficiently coordinated the work, finishing the foundation, PT deck and garage weeks ahead of schedule.
Sustainable design meets or exceeds the Washington State Evergreen Standards with features such as a central boiler; energy-efficient appliances; individually metered electric baseboard heaters; low-flow plumbing fixtures; and high-performing windows.
WALSH protected the oak and chestnut trees growing along the street in front of the building, working carefully around them throughout construction. The three existing trees frame the building’s face, retaining a residential landscape on the urban block.
Universal Design standards apply throughout so that community spaces and residential units are usable by all residents and their guests. The development is within walking distance to Columbia City’s library, farmer’s market, and cafés.
