The DESC Hobson Place project consisted of two phases: North and South. The North phase was completed first, followed a little over a year later with the South phase. In total, the new six-story building offers 177 apartments and was designed by Runberg Architecture Group.

The project honors the legacy of late former director Bill Hobson, whose 31-year tenure with the organization included serving as executive director from 1988 until his retirement in 2015. Achieving Passive House certification, the building also includes a 5,000 square-foot Harborview healthcare clinic with capacity to serve 10,000 clients per year. In partnership with Harbor View Medical Center, it was designed to meet the needs of people living with disabilities and experiencing long periods of homelessness.
