The 51,167 SF remodel and upgrade of the Reed College Commons and Student Union Center involved a collaborative effort on the part of Walsh Construction Co. in meeting multiple challenges. The project involved remodeling the existing commons and creating a new auditorium while, at the same time, preserving the tranquility of student services. In order to maintain a constant look throughout the quad the team’s design matched both the 1920s and 1960s wood architecture already present at Reed.

In addition, WALSH was contracted to construct a standalone 18,400 SF, 700-seat auditorium expansion.  Both projects required new sidewalks, porches and other miscellaneous site improvements.
