The Aries will be a vibrant transit-oriented, affordable housing community near the Bitter Lake Reservoir and Park. It will offer about 200 units to individuals and families with lower incomes, including those with disabilities. The 206,000 SF apartment building will feature ground-floor residential common areas, an exterior courtyard, and on-site surface parking.

Bellwether Housing established an early goal of cost efficiency to maximize density and minimize overall cost per unit to support targeted financing objectives. The WALSH project team engaged in a collaborative CEDC approach with SMR Architects and Bellwether Housing to achieve this goal. The resulting plans included careful layouts of walls and units that minimized sheetrock waste and finishing—and allowed mechanical trades to run all systems within one wall assembly. These optimizations have helped reduce project costs while maintaining structural integrity.
