Walsh worked closely with the owner, developer and design team to bring a new senior housing community to Snohomish County. Shepherd’s Garden Senior Housing provides 39 units of affordable housing for extremely low income seniors with incomes at or below 30 percent of the area median.

Construction took place just steps from the existing church building, on 2.2 acres of land. Scope included a significant amount of utility infrastructure. The new housing is 31,700 SF, slab on grade concrete with three levels of wood frame, with 39 one-bedroom units and a two-bedroom manager’s unit. Common areas include a community room, a library, a small bistro and a community patio. Funding for the project is through a HUD 202 grant, and local Snohomish County funds.

American Baptist Homes of the West is the owner, and partnered with neighboring Good Shepherd Baptist Church, which donated the land. Both are very happy with the new building and especially with WCC’s work on the project “keeping things going quickly and safely.”
