Building Community with our WALSH Cranes!

You might have seen our green letters flying high in several places around the city of Portland, Oregon. As experts in high-rise construction, we own and operate our own cranes. Currently, three of those cranes are at the following projects in downtown Portland:

– Parkview at Terwilliger Plaza, an 11-story, 370,000 SF high rise building set to hold 127 independent living apartments

– Waterleaf, a six-story affordable housing project in RiverPlace waterfront for Bridge Housing

– Holden of Pearl, a 16-story senior living tower in the Pearl District

You can learn more about these projects on our website. Kudos to the fabulous drone skills of Goodwick Creative Services!

Remembering Tom Walsh, a great visionary and WALSH co-founder

By Bob Walsh, Chairman of the board and beloved brother to Tom

In 1961, two young brothers, Tom and Bob Walsh, had an idea for a business. They were students with limited funds, with a shoebox serving as their filing cabinet and a Chevy van as their transportation. They had no idea what was in store for them and the lives they would touch. Tom was the calm and collected leader that kept a keen eye on his vision to improve the lives of others. The legacy he leaves behind is extraordinary. …Read More

Reaching Higher for Higher Education

Did you know our WALSH teams have been building on university campuses since the 1970s? Our first project was for Washington State University in 1975, followed closely by a family housing project for University of Washington in 1980. From there, we have built up (pun intended) a solid portfolio of Higher Education work in the Pacific Northwest, completing projects for Portland State University, Portland Community College, University of Oregon, Oregon State University, and even a renovation of the iconic Kibbie Dome for Idaho State University. We know how to build spaces in which students can unlock their full learning potential. …Read More
