Happy Thanksgiving !

This holiday, we hold nothing but gratitude in our hearts – for the communities we’ve impacted, and the people and partners that have stood beside us along the way.

From all of us at Walsh Construction Co. to you, we wish you a happy Thanksgiving, full of joy…and good food of course! 🦃

**Please note our offices will be closing at 2pm today and will reopen Monday, November 28th.

Thank you for your service.

Honoring our Veterans. In the words of our WALSH president, Matt Leeding, today we: “remember not only those that sacrifice themselves for a cause they felt worthy, but also thank all those that are and have given their time and commitment to freedom by serving this country. It is through their willingness and service they have given, that each of us have the freedom we enjoy each and every day.”  We hope you will do the same.

Happy Halloween From WALSH !

Another fun and spooky Halloween potluck at the office! And some adorable trick-or-treaters. Many thanks to Shelly Stephenson for managing the events and to everyone who took the time to celebrate together.

Project Tour with NAWIC (National Association of Women in Construction)!

WALSH project manager, Mariah David, toured a group from NAWIC (National Association of Women in Construction) through our Ethiopian Village project in Seattle last week.

Progress is continuing smoothly on this project, which includes improvements to the existing Ethiopian Community Center along with the new 90-unit, 5-story affordable senior housing facility next door. Once complete at the end of this year, it will be a place for the Ethiopian community to flourish, elders to age in place, and aid a successful transition for newly arrived refugees and immigrants.

Dan Snow Wins Housing Oregon Award !

Congratulations are in order for our very own vice president, Dan Snow – Housing Oregon‘s recipient of the 2022 Star Player award!

This award recognizes the outstanding contributions someone has made over the past year, and we couldn’t agree more. Dan has been a staple at WALSH for the past 32 years, overseeing all affordable housing projects in our Oregon region. He knows these projects in and out and has a special heart for nurturing the projects – and our client partners – throughout the process.

Congratulations on the honor, Dan!

This construction effort was led by Project Engineer Liz Stewart who is an 11-year veteran of WALSH as well as a Veteran of our US military. Thankfully, Liz found her way to WALSH through the Laborer’s Union and hit the ground running. Coming up through the field, she has learned from many WALSH mentors including Ryan Matthews, Steffen Schulz and Kyle Heckaman. Liz has taken on many unique and exciting challenges and is excited for what’s ahead!
