Team WALSH raised $5,578 for the 2017 Komen Puget Sound Race for the Cure placing us in 6th place! Thanks to the Washington WALSH team of Wendy Kato, Ahmed Zahid, Colleen Gilson, Cristina Rivera, Dan Lake, John Gilson, Jonathan Chow, Michael Simpson, Rhiannon Simpson and Whitney Lake!
Race for the Cure is Susan G. Komen Puget Sound‘s single largest fundraising opportunity. Seventy-five percent of net funds raised are invested in community grants to provide underserved women with breast cancer early detection screenings, patient navigation and financial support for basic needs while undergoing treatment. The remaining twenty-five percent goes directly to fund research to better diagnose, treat and ultimately cure breast cancer.
