Thank you to our WALSH Family Team at the 2019 Susan G. Komen breast cancer walk!

So proud of our #walshcofamily Team at the 2019 Susan G. Komen breast cancer walk! This year’s event in the Puget Sound region featured a few major changes, and a big rebrand – from Race for the Cure, to MORE THAN PINK, highlighting that those who support the organization are much more than a color.

Team leader Wendy Kato and our untiring walking crew raised $5,007.00 through generous donations and support from employees, friends, and family, as well as the sale of breast cancer awareness t-shirts. We were 10th overall in the Top 25 Teams in fundraising! We walked for those currently battling breast cancer, those who have survived breast cancer, and in memory of loved ones lost to the disease.

Now a scenic 3.9k walk instead of a 5k race, the new route along the beautiful Lake Washington waterfront made for a great family-friendly event and instilled a greater sense of community.

Despite the rebrand, Susan G. Komen’s commitment to prevent and cure breast cancer by funding research, providing community education, and facilitating screening and treatment initiatives for those in need remains the same.

This could not have been done without our team!
