Congratulations to the entire design-build team of the Louisa Flowers for the Earth Advantage Green Home Builder of the Year 2020 Awards AND also the LEED® for Homes Project Team Award !! The project also recently achieved LEED for Homes Platinum certification; exceeding its original goal and an energy cost savings by 25% compared to code standards.
The Louisa Flowers is the largest affordable housing development built in Portland in the last five decades creating affordable housing during a time when Portland is experiencing a housing crisis. The building name honors Louisa Flowers and speaks to her legacy by empowering diversity, equity, and inclusion in the same neighborhood in which she resided. Equity is also reflected in the project team, with 30% of the project value awarded to minority-owned, woman-owned, and emerging small businesses.
