The beautiful, affordable and sustainable Orchards of 82nd has won the Earth Advantage Affordable Housing Project Team of the Year Award!
Congratulations to ROSE Community Development Corporation, Asian Pacific American Network of Oregon (APANO), HOUSING DEVELOPMENT CENTER, SERA Architects, and the OWCB construction team of Ali O’Neill, Kent Usher, Ben Bechdolt, Trevor Thompson and Linda Woolery! OWCB (O’Neill/Walsh Community Builders, LLC) is a successful partnership between O’Neill Construction Group, an MBE/DBE certified and Veteran-owned firm, and Walsh Construction Co.
Orchards features 48 units ideal for young families and supports ROSE’s Baby Booster Initiative aimed at improving quality of life for children in their first 1,000 days. The ground floor is a community lounge and learning space, as well as a multicultural event space, owned and managed by APANO. Thanks to the Portland General Electric Renewable Development Fund, ROSE was able to include solar arrays which are generating roughly 70% of the common area energy use.
