Announcing Mercy Housing NW’s Rosa Franklin Place!

Announcing Mercy Housing NW’s Rosa Franklin Place! The new senior living community has been named in honor of Tacoma community champion Rosa Franklin.

Rosa Lee Franklin, now 94, worked as a registered nurse for 42 years and was the first African American woman to be elected to a seat in the Washington State Senate. Her contributions include sponsoring the Washington Housing Policy Act and establishing the Governor’s Ineragency Council on Health Disparities.

Rosa Franklin Place will be a place to call home for 69 individuals 62+ years of age in Tacoma’s Hilltop neighborhood. Special features include a community room with a computer lab, a spacious outdoor courtyard, and a Resident Services program that highlights health and wellness, community engagement, and housing and financial stability.

Walsh is proud to have partnered with SMR Architects to deliver this beautiful new asset to Mercy Housing NW and the Hilltop community. Many thanks to the WALSH team of Dennis Maples, Greg Gagnon, Nathan Connaway, Andrew Billings, Cindie Banta and Brian Lenz for their diligent and thoughtful work.
