The Mary Ann Affordable Family Housing!

The team is on the home stretch for The Mary Ann — beautiful, affordable, family housing designed by Scott | Edwards Architecture for REACH CDC. The Mary Ann is the first project to start construction with funding from the Metro regional affordable housing bond and despite the challenges of the past year with supply-chain complications, forest fires and ice-storms, the project is on schedule and on budget! What a team.

The four-story building is located in Old Town Beaverton with access to transit, schools and amenities and will be home to very low-income families with children. The building is named in honor of Mary Ann Spencer Watts, the City of Beaverton’s first school teacher. She taught in a log cabin in 1852 on a site where Beaverton High School is now located, just one block from the property. The lush, full green roof has been installed atop a structure that is solar-ready!

Congratulations to the WALSH team of Jay NeesBrandi Pine (Bernhardt)Hunter RainsNick CardozaScott RascoeSarah Stein and Caitlin Kelley for their incredible collaboration, teamwork and dedication!
