Jack joined us 25 years ago as our first experienced project manager from outside the company. His focus and support of long-term clients like Community Roots Housing (CRH), the Low Income Housing Institute (LIHI) and the Downtown Emergency Service Center (DESC) helped form the bedrock of our community work in Seattle. Jack’s mentorship has strengthened our capability as a company and established a solid group of current and future leaders. Jack’s involvement with Rebuilding Together has provided an example to us all.
Starting as a superintendent and then serving as our first General Superintendent, Steve helped establish the template for the execution of the superintendent role at WALSH. His coaching of scores of individuals, whether from a field or construction management background has ensured a strength of job site leadership that is so integral to our success today. Steve’s support of self-performed work helped our teams grow to the level of competence and capability we currently enjoy. His generosity with his time and love of outdoor activities led to many enjoyable fishing trips and other events that built camaraderie and provided a break from a stressful occupation.
It is with a strong sense of pride in their accomplishments and gratitude for their contributions that we welcome Jack Kuester and Steve Schneider into the Alumni Club of WALSH! Enjoy your well-deserved retirement Jack and Steve!
