Exceptional Teamwork at The Starlight for Central City Concern

Work is progressing beautifully on The Starlight for Central City Concern – a seven-story, 100-unit affordable housing project beautifully designed by Works Progress Architecture, LLP! Formerly known as the Westwind Apartments, the new name of The Starlight draws on the history of the area and is inspired by Amtrak’s Coast Starlight line which travels through nearby Union Station and the annual Starlight Parade which passes through downtown.

The revitalization to this corner in Old Town will provide affordable housing primarily to those experiencing homelessness as well as ground floor retail and extensive supportive services. Being built to achieve Earth Advantage platinum standards – there will be a solar array on the roof!

We want to thank our WALSH team of Afton WalshAdam Klauba, Ben Bechdolt and Sarah Stein for their incredible work on this project and Hugo Zavala of Zavala Corporation for their exceptional leadership, hard work and collaboration performing concrete on this community project. LatinoBuilt
