Congratulations to Catholic Charities of Oregon on the Groundbreaking of Good Shepherd!

We want to congratulate Catholic Charities of Oregon on the groundbreaking of Good Shepherd Village – 143 affordable apartments for low-income families, veterans and seniors in Happy Valley! Part of its innovative Healthy Housing Initiative, Catholic Charities will be working in conjunction with Providence Health & Services to connect newly-housed residents with primary health and mental health care, work to decrease hospital readmission rates among homeless persons and proactively address the challenges of chronic homelessness in the region.

Travis Phillips of Catholic Charities said it best! “We are thrilled to be able to welcome families to an incredible neighborhood that is too often out of reach for low-income households. This property was generously donated to us nearly a decade ago with the vision that low-income people would be able to afford to live in an area with such great opportunities, and we’re excited to see that vision finally realized.”

Our WALSH team of Dan SnowBrian Layman, Drew Anderson, Alan Minoza, Tony Sjolander and Jill Mathews are honored to be a part of this project! Congratulations to all the crucial partners bringing this project to fruition including MWA Architects, Inc.MetroHousing Development Center, LIHTC Investor, US Bank CDC, Oregon Housing & Community Services (OHCS) and the Brockamp family who donated 11 acres for the project.
