Congratulations to the entire Tigard Senior Housing project team for their recent official groundbreaking! Our continued partnership with Northwest Housing Alternatives has led to this important project, offering 57 one-bedroom apartments to Oregon seniors earning between 30% and 60% of the area median income (AMI). Eight apartments will be set aside for formerly homeless individuals, including five for formerly homeless veterans. Located next to the senior center and located near public transit and the library, this new development is due to be complete by August 2023.
Parkview at Terwilliger Plaza will be a ten-level, 370,000 SF building offering 127 independent senior living homes built to Passive House principles which will contribute to Portland’s distinction as a national leader in sustainable building practices! In early August, the skybridge will be erected and will connect the Parkview expansion with the existing campus while also creating an iconic gateway to the southern entrance to the city. We are thrilled to be collaborating with Terwilliger Plaza, LRS Architects, Inc. and PAE while leading the way toward improved senior accessibility.
The 2022 WALSH Oregon company picnic was a great success at Alderbrook Park! Parents relaxed and competed in a game of bingo while the kids jumped in the bounce house, or took part in face painting, making balloon animals, having fun in the petting zoo or paddling on the pond.
Happy Valley’s first affordable housing development is underway! This high quality project will be comprised of two, 4-story buildings formed around an inner courtyard with a communal area, playground and barbeque. Onsite services will be provided by EngAGE, Inc. and to address the varied needs of homeless young adults, residents will receive relevant services from HomePlate Youth Services.
Please join us in congratulating Spencer Dailey on his promotion to Assistant Superintendent!
Spencer joined our Washington team in our Seattle office in 2019 as a Project Engineer. While there, he successfully worked on Wesley Homes, a not-for-profit offering continuing care and home health choices for Puget Sound seniors as well as the Compass Housing Alliance’s renovations to their shelter spaces to help prevent COVID transmission. In February of 2021, Spencer and his wife made the move to Portland and over the past year he has successfully worked with our Oregon teams on the Holden of Pearl senior living tower and the innovative mass plywood project in Fossil at Camp Hancock for OMSI.
