Beautiful Work on ?al?al for Chief Seattle Club!

We are thrilled to share the continued progress of ?al?al for Chief Seattle Club as well as an image of the on-site visit with Eagle Village and Native Works and Jones & Jones Architects! This exceptional project will support the physical, cultural and spiritual needs of people in the Native community and serve a wide range of housing and service needs. Gardner House and Allen Family Center Wins Best Supportive Services at an Affordable Apartment Community Award!

Congratulations to the project team of Gardner House and Allen Family Center for the National Association of Home Builders Best Supportive Services at an Affordable Apartment Community award! The project is an innovative public-private partnership between the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation, city of Seattle and Mercy Housing Northwest to create exceptional services and housing for low-income families and families experiencing homelessness. On the ground floor, the Allen Family Center integrates education, employment resources, childcare and social services through several in-house service providers: Mercy Housing Northwest, ReWA, Child Care Resources and Mary’s Place. The residential portion of the project, Gardner House, includes 95 one-, two- and three-bedroom units of permanently affordable and supportive housing. The transit-oriented development is one block from a light-rail station and is between two major arterials, ensuring residents are easily connected, and don’t feel they need to make a large investment into a vehicle.

The Mary Ann for REACH Will Help Meet the Needs of Local Families in Beaverton!

Exceptional work on The Mary Ann for REACH CDC, with Scott | Edwards Architecture and Klosh Group, Inc., creating 54 new affordable apartment homes in beautiful Old Town Beaverton! It is one of the first new communities made possible through the voter-approved Metro Regional Affordable Housing Bond making housing more affordable and accessible to all. The Mary Ann will help meet the needs of local families and features 39 parking spaces, a secure bike room, laundry facilities, and a community room open to a large courtyard.

Recent Renovations to Compass Housing Alliance’s Shelter Spaces to Help Prevent COVID Transmission

WALSH is proud to support Compass Housing Alliance’s 100-year anniversary happening this spring and culminating in a celebration on May 16th. It is also gratifying to read about the positive impact to Compass clients that resulted from the recent renovations to their shelter spaces in Seattle to help prevent COVID transmission.

Congratulations to our flexible, capable team who hopped in to action very quickly on this project which included 4 different shelter locations in total: Mike Bang (Sr PM), Angella Hould (PM), John Lennox (PM), Dwain Mountford (SUPT), BJ Graham (ASST SUPT), Spencer Dailey (PE) and Karen Moon (PA).

Please join us in congratulating Nick Leeding on his promotion to Superintendent! Nick has been with WALSH since 2013, working his way up through the field from Project Engineer to Assistant Superintendent and now Superintendent. He was an instrumental part of the team at our 11-story Couch 9 Luxury Apartments, the Pacific University Cascade Hall student housing project and one of our most complex projects – the 12-story, 240-unit Louisa Flowers affordable housing project – which was completed on time and on budget.

Meyer Memorial Trust Headquarters has Received Oregon’s Rirst PLATINUM LEED v4 New Construction Certification!

We are thrilled to announce that the Meyer Memorial Trust Headquarters has received Oregon’s first PLATINUM LEED v4 New Construction Certification! Some highlights of the deeply sustainable features of the building include: anticipated 66% energy cost savings, anticipated 59,392 gallons of water saved annually, 53 kW Solar Photovoltaic Array is anticipated to produce 61,321 kWh annually, comprehensive commissioning of the building envelope and building MEP systems AND 83% (855 tons) of the total construction waste from the project site was diverted from the landfill !

In her most recent project, she adeptly led Pioneer Aspen Terrace to a successful on-time, on-budget completion, shifting and pivoting to address numerous challenges posed by COVID-19.
